When evaluating an asset, most assessments focus on its current condition.

But ground movement doesn’t begin on the day someone notices it.

Was there measurable deformation? When did it begin? Was the movement localised? Did the deformation pattern change before the incident?

Retrospective analysis cannot rewrite the past.

But it can help organisations understand whether satellite observations contained signals that could have provided additional situational awareness.

This type of analysis can also inform how future monitoring programmes are designed.
